First Home

First Home

Collin and I took the plunge! We bought our first home. It's small, sweet, and all ours. We absolutely love it! We moved in about a month ago and already feel like its the home we've always wanted.

We started looking for our first home to buy in late spring but nothing jumped out at us like this one. We only looked at about six or so houses and this one immediately left us feeling that it was the one. We went back and forth whether or not to buy but thank goodness we did.

Everything from the inspection, negotiations, and closing went incredibly smooth. We had help from a few amazing friends and had our first night in our new home at the end of July. Buying a home has felt like a gigantic leap into adulthood. Collin and I feel more responsible and more planted than ever before. No more dealing with landlords and waiting for them to fix something. Having our own place makes everything so special. Our new favorite phrase is "I love our little home." At just over 1100 square feet our home is quite tiny but our things fit perfectly and it seems like it was made for us.

Our neighbors came over the other day and brought cookies to welcome us to the neighborhood. People really do that - like a leave it to beaver moment. It was adorable. And we ate every one of those delicious cookies.

This leap into adulthood got me thinking about our next steps and we'll see what life has in store for us next...
